Spring Retreat Speaker – Jenny Savage
My name is Jenny Savage and I am honored to be your speaker for this year’s Spring Retreat!
The Lord has generously blessed my husband and I with a house in the Sweet Home area where we currently live and serve. For more than 13 years we have run Youth for Christ programs in Linn County and are passionate about serving in our local schools and churches – collaborating with other believers to do outreach and discipleship for young people. We run all-nighters, retreats, camps, and mission trips. On Fridays, we partner with local churches to feed 200 high school students. My husband and I are currently substitute teaching as the Lord allows. I teach adult Sunday school, and children’s church as needed, as well as help run a Celebrate Recovery group.
In addition to serving outside of our home, we have ministry happening within. Our home has always been open to those in need. At any given time we are housing one or two young people. This is not an official or state-funded thing – we just have a heart to share what the Lord has generously blessed us with… and it turns out that entering adulthood can be a very difficult endeavor especially when trauma and substance abuse are involved.
Four years ago the Lord saw fit to bless us with a son. He is extremely creative, generous, cuddly, and has enough energy to revolutionize renewable energy if we could just figure out how to capture it.
Each season of this adventure with Jesus looks a little different. We desperately need His guidance, direction, and provision. Rest is something I have by no means mastered, but the Lord is so faithful, patient, and good.
I am on this journey with you.
I am humbled and honored to share God’s Word on this topic at Spring Retreat. Know that I am praying for you in whatever season you’re in right now.
May God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.
Your Sister in Christ,
Jenny Savage
